MIXED LIFE DIGITAL JOURNAL

31 days of affirmations to help you raise confident and resilient mixed race kids

Ever wish you knew exactly what to say to reaffirm your kid’s racial identity?

Most parents of mixed race children spend so much time worrying about saying the “wrong” thing, they end up never saying anything at all.

I know you’re worried your child will ask a question you can’t answer. Or that as a monoracial person, you’ll never understand your child’s experience.

But research tells us that mixed race kids have better mental health outcomes when they’re able to have open conversations about their identity. That all starts at home, with you.

It’s time to shift from avoidance to acknowledgment.

Raising well-adjusted kids means doing the inner work.

It means learning how to recognize your own internalized beliefs, so you can choose which ones to pass on to your kids. It means regular reflection where you ask yourself the hard questions.

And it means reframing your view of your child’s mixed race experience, so you can truly see things from their perspective.

But all of that hard work is worth it when…

  • Your child comes to you after a hard day at school, and you know exactly what to say

  • You feel empowered as you learn more about their identity every day

  • You’re able to stop worrying so much because you know your kid can handle whatever life throws at them

Your child deserves nothing less. And YOU deserve a safe space to work out your thoughts and feelings as you learn how to support your mixed race kid.

Hi there! I’m Dr. Jennifer Noble (Dr. Jenn)

I’m a licensed psychologist, a coach for parents of mixed race children, and a lover of adolescents.

I love to infuse my expertise in adolescent development, family dynamics, and racial identity into my work, but I always add in my wit (or is it corniness?) along with my educator’s break-it-down approach. I’m sure you’ll see that in this journal.

In short - I’m just a mixed race kid who is now all grown up (mostly) and I’m working to reduce the marginalization of mixed race people!
